Health, Safety & Environment

At Rocksure International Limited, protecting our people, communities and the environment is fundamental to how we operate. We believe that every person should return home safely at the end of each working day, and that every injury, occupational illness and preventable environmental incident can be avoided.
Our Health, Safety and Environment management approach is built around a clear objective: ZERO HARM.
Our ZERO HARM Framework
The ZERO HARM framework guides how we plan, lead and carry out our operations. It places responsibility for safety at every level of the organisation and integrates hazard identification, risk management, employee engagement and continuous improvement into everyday decision-making.
Through this framework, we work to prevent incidents before they occur, strengthen accountability and maintain safe, healthy and environmentally responsible workplaces across all our operations.
Visible and Courageous Safety Leadership
Our Visibly Felt Leadership programme requires leaders to maintain an active presence in the field. Leaders engage directly with employees, observe working conditions, verify that critical controls are effective and ensure that identified concerns receive timely attention.
This approach is reinforced through Courageous Safety Leadership, which encourages employees at every level to challenge unsafe practices, raise concerns and take personal responsibility for protecting themselves and others.
Our message is simple: “Walk the Talk and Speak Up for Safety.”
We expect our leaders to demonstrate the standards they require from others and our employees to speak up whenever they identify a hazard, unsafe condition or opportunity for improvement.
Training, Engagement and Communication
Rocksure invests continuously in training for both leaders and workers. Our programmes are designed to strengthen safety awareness, improve understanding of workplace hazards and ensure employees possess the knowledge required to perform their duties responsibly.
Timely employee engagement and communication are also central to our HSE approach. We ensure that relevant safety information, operational changes, identified risks and lessons from incidents are communicated clearly and promptly throughout the organisation.
By maintaining open communication and encouraging active employee participation, we continue to build a workplace culture in which safety is understood as a shared responsibility.
Risk Management and Operational Assurance
Risk management is embedded throughout the planning and execution of our work. Hazards are identified, risks are assessed and appropriate controls are implemented before activities begin. These controls are then monitored and verified to ensure they remain suitable and effective.
Regular workplace inspections and audits help us identify unsafe conditions, measure compliance and improve operational standards. Employees are encouraged to report hazards and near misses promptly so that corrective action can be taken before an injury, incident or operational loss occurs.
Our emergency-response arrangements support timely and coordinated action whenever an emergency arises. Defined response actions, clear communication and operational preparedness help protect employees, contractors, surrounding communities and company assets.
Technology-Driven Fatigue Management
Recognising the risks associated with fatigue in mining operations, Rocksure uses technology to strengthen driver and operator safety. Dashcams installed in operational vehicles support fatigue management by improving oversight, identifying potential fatigue-related risks and enabling timely intervention.
This technology complements employee training, supervision and established journey-management practices, providing an additional layer of protection for vehicle operators and other road users.
Environmental Responsibility
Environmental considerations form an integral part of our HSE management system. We incorporate environmental risks into operational planning, workplace inspections, audits and corrective-action processes to minimise the impact of our activities.
We remain committed to regulatory compliance, responsible resource use and the continual improvement of our environmental performance across all project sites.
