Kweku A. Awotwi is currently the Board Chairman of both the UBA Ghana Ltd, and the Multimedia Group Limited (Ghana), Between 1990-1998, he was a Manager of Business Planning for the Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Company in Pleasanton, California, where he worked for eight years. He is a former Chief Executive of the Volta River Authority, Ghana’s state electricity generation utility, which he ran from 2009-2013. Prior to this, he was Managing Director, Strategic Planning & New Business Development for Ashanti Goldfields Company Limited, now AngloGold Ashanti Company, from 1998 2004.
He was the Executive Vice President of Tullow Oil Plc, and Managing Director of Tullow Ghana Ltd, the operator of Jubilee and TEN (“Tweneboa Enyenra Ntomme”) deep water oil and gas fields offshore Ghana, which he joined in March 2018, and left in June 2020. He has an MBA from Stanford in California and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Economics and Political Science from Yale New Haven, Connecticut both in the US.
