JAMES KWAMENA ANAMAN

Chairman

 

James Anaman is a Corporate Affairs Consultant with over 45 years of experience in Diplomacy, Media, Public, Government and Investor Relations. He is a past President of the Chamber of Mines and former Managing Director for Corporate Affairs and Investor Relations for the erstwhile Ashanti Goldfields Company Ltd. He previously served as Director of Jislah Financial Services Ltd and Governing Council Member of the African University College of Communications. He was briefly a Director on the former Ashanti Goldfields Zimbabwe Board. A graduate from the University of Ghana, he is also a Fellow of the Institute of Public Relations of Ghana, and a past Member of the Investor Relations Society of the United Kingdom.

KWASI OSEI OFORI

Chief Executive Officer

 

Kwasi Osei Ofori is an experienced businessman, with over 30 years’ extensive practical involvement in the construction, mining and equipment rental business both in West Africa and in Europe. He has developed a very strong worldwide network of heavy equipment suppliers, operators, financiers and a wide range of mining professionals. He has also developed considerable negotiating skills with which the corporate interest has been promoted in Governmental, NGO, Community and other stakeholder circles. These contacts have provided deep insights and driven his vision and overall leadership role in the company. Amongst others, He also serves on the Board of UMA, the JV vehicle between AUMS and Rocksure which currently operates the Obuasi Underground mines.

KWESI ENYAN

Executive Director - General Operations  

Kwesi Enyan is a mining engineer and a seasoned professional in the industry with over 30 years remarkable experience across both regular bodies and Mining concerns. In the year 2020, the Chamber of Mines honored him with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Kwesi has held many senior positions in  the Mining industry where he has particularly achieved turnaround situations in challenging operations. Until recently, he was the Managing Director for AngloGold Ashanti's Legendary Obuasi Mines and now serves on the Board of UMA, the JV vehicle between AUMS and Rocksure which currently operates the Obuasi Underground mines. He is undoubtedly an asset to the team. Kwesi qualified as a mining engineer from the world renowned Camborne School of Mines in the UK and an AMP program from the Havard Business School, Boston, Mass USA.

ISAAC K. MENSAH

Non-Executive Director

 

Isaac K. Mensah is an accomplished Civil Engineer with expertise and experience in infrastructure design, construction and maintenance. Isaac was for many years, a senior executive in the national Highway organization. He has been very valuable to the Board and relevant operations of the Company. Having worked with National Development Authorities and other engineering assignments over the past three decades, Isaac has also managed major projects successfully in his professional career. His insights from all his professional activities have been invaluable particularly in the load and haul area of our corporate activities. He is a Senior Member of Ghana Institution of Engineers (MGhIE).

IRENE NAAKIE YEBOAH

Executive Director - Finance, Corporate Affairs & Admin

 

Irene Yeboah is the Administrative and Finance Director who has played vital and varied management roles for the company. Over the past fifteen years, Mrs. Yeboah has emerged as a versatile executive with experience spanning the Mining, Construction and Precious minerals industry. As a professional accountant, Irene has also ably undertaken and represented the Company on various levels in and outside the country. As Administrator, she has been a Key factor in the enviable stability the Company has achieved in such a turbulent mining environment.

SHEILA MINKAH-PREMO

Non-Executive Director

 

Sheila Minkah-Premo is the Managing Consultant of Apex Lawconsult, a law firm in Accra that provides legal services including corporate law. She is also a development consultant and has over two decades of experience in working on mining law and policy. She has been consulting in legal matters for the Ghana Chamber of Mines for over 15 years now and is also an informed gender advocate in Ghanaian public affairs. Mrs. Minkah-Premoh holds a law degree from the University of Ghana and was called to the Ghana Bar in 1989. She also holds a Masters in law (LLM) from the Georgetown University Law Centre in the USA.

KWEKU AWOTWI

Non-Executive Director

Kweku A. Awotwi is currently the Board Chairman of both the UBA Ghana Ltd, and the Multimedia Group Limited (Ghana), Between 1990-1998, he was a Manager of Business Planning for the Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Company in Pleasanton, California, where he worked for eight years. He is a former Chief Executive of the Volta River Authority, Ghana’s state electricity generation utility, which he ran from 2009-2013. Prior to this, he was Managing Director, Strategic Planning & New Business Development for Ashanti Goldfields Company Limited, now AngloGold Ashanti Company, from 1998 2004. He was the Executive Vice President of Tullow Oil Plc, and Managing Director of Tullow Ghana Ltd, the operator of Jubilee and TEN (“Tweneboa Enyenra Ntomme”) deep water oil and gas fields offshore Ghana, which he joined in March 2018, and left in June 2020. He has an MBA from Stanford in California and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Economics and Political Science from Yale New Haven, Connecticut both in the US.
